Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace upon him) has enumerated beautifully the significance of praying for one’s brethren in faith. Amongst his blessed sayings are these pearls of beauty:

Whenever a Muslim supplicates for his (Muslim) brother in his absence, the angels say: “May the same be for you too!” — narrated by Abu Darda in Muslim

The swiftest supplication to be answered is the supplication of someone for another person who is not present. — narrated by ‘Abdullah b. ‘Amr in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad

When launching the ask4dua initiative, Shaikhuna Dr Thaika Shuaib said:

Many are struggling with trials and tribulations in health, wealth, studies, career, marriages and families. They are beset with challenges in the form of physical maladies, spiritual crisis, emotional ailments, mental issues and even abuse of various forms.

In many cases, all they need is for somebody to hear them out and make a sincere, heartfelt supplication [du’a] for their plight. We hope ask4dua is an avenue to bring solace to such people and is a means to actualise the Prophetic teachings above.

Success and guidance is from Allah alone. Blessings and peace on Prophet Muhammad, his family and companions. “Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from what they ascribe (unto Him). And peace be on the Envoys. And praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds.
